Donald Trump has been criticised by some people online after he praised his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., during a speech at the Future Investment Initiative Institute summit in Miami on Friday (March 27).
The POTUS has five children; Trump Jr., Ivanka and Eric with first wife Ivana, while he welcomed daughter Tiffany with his second wife Marla Maples. And there is of course the president’s youngest son, Barron, with whom Trump co-parents with the First Lady, Melania Trump.
There’s often the saying that the middle children are the forgotten ones in a family dynamic, and it’s typically the first child and the youngest that receive the special treatment.
White House message reversed
Well, according to some people on the internet, Trump is snubbing the rest of his kids after making a bizarre comment about Trump Jr.’s genetic makeup.
The president said in Miami: “Now we have our great son. He’s got the best genes I think of any human being I’ve ever known. He’s my son, Don Trump. Don, he’s a great guy. And his fiancée, Bettina. Good, Bettina, good. Now my son’s got the greatest genes in history. I’m a big believer in genes.”

The president continued to speak about his eldest child, though there was a lack of mention for Ivanka, Tiffany, Eric and Barron.
One person on X described Trump as a ‘total embarrassment’, while another noted: “Melania is going to be so pleased to hear that her son doesn’t rate.”
Elsewhere in his Future Investment Initiative Institute summit speech in Florida, Trump bizarrely referred to the Strait of Hormuz as the ‘Strait of Trump’.
Speaking of the war with Iran, Trump said: “We’re negotiating now, and it’d be great if we could do something, but they have to open it up. They have to open up the Strait of Trump — I mean, Hormuz. Excuse me, I’m so sorry, such a terrible mistake.”

The president added: “The fake news will say he accidentally said — there’s no accidents with me, not too many. If there were, we’d have a major story.”
Trump is certainly no stranger to wanting his name on something after the famous Kennedy Centre was named after himself.
The center’s board voted unanimously in December last year to rename the building to the Trump-Kennedy Center.
Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary, stated on social media that the decision was made because of ‘the unbelievable work President Trump has done over the last year in saving the building’.Featured Image Credit: Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images

Melania Trump issues warning of serious ‘consequences’ to those responsible for leaked Barron photo
Barron’s mom was certainly not impressed…
A leaked photo of Barron Trump is said to have angered Melania Trump, with the first lady believed to be considering legal action against those responsible for passing on the image.
Members of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf club are said to have taken a picture of Barron without permission, an image that has since circulated online.
The photo is believed to have been taken around the festive period at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, with Barron – the only son of Melania and the president – said to have been snapped walking behind his father, the POTUS, through a dining area.
A source told journalist Rob Shuter that Trump’s teenage son was ‘solemnly following his father through the dining room’.
“He was quiet, very reserved, wearing his usual blue suit, almost mirroring Donald. He didn’t smile or interact much.”

Melania’s reaction to the photo leak of Barron
The source close to Shuter added: “Melania made it very clear that Barron’s privacy is non-negotiable, anyone caught filming or taking pictures would face immediate consequences, including potential banning from the club.”
Meanwhile, another source added: “The message was clear: no cameras, no leaks. Private family moments stay private.”
While he keeps a somewhat low profile, Barron recently began his sophomore year at New York University, with the New York Times reporting that the 19-year-old had relocated to the university’s Washington, D.C., campus, less than 2 miles from the White House.
It comes after the First Lady was mentioned at the Oscars on Sunday (March 15) as Jimmy Kimmel took aim at the Trump administration.

“Fortunately, for all of us, there is an international community of filmmakers dedicated to telling the truth, oftentimes at great risk, to make films that teach us, that call out injustice, that inspire us to take action,” the talk show host said.
“And there are also documentaries where you walk around the White House trying on shoes.”
While Kimmel did not directly mention the president, he went on to joke: “Oh man, is he going to be mad his wife wasn’t nominated for this.”
That was, of course, a reference to the Amazon documentary title Melania, which was released on the popular streaming platform earlier this year.
The documentary followed Melania in the weeks running up to her return to the White House after Trump won the 2024 presidential campaign.
It’s been reported that the First Lady was paid an eye-watering $40 million by Amazon for the exclusive behind-the-scenes access, though she has insisted money was not the driving factor behind the project.
“I’m very proud of the film, so people may like it, may not like it, and that’s their choice,” she previously told CNN. “We achieved what we want to achieve.
“For myself, it’s already successful. I’m very proud of what we did.”
Fact check: Barron Trump ‘buying’ $30 million of oil before the US-Iran conflict

The viral claim first appeared on X on March 3, alleging that Barron had ‘bought $30 million of OIL just 2 days before the war started’. A follow-up tweet on March 8 seemingly reiterated this, but also claimed he had ‘made $20 million in profit’.
However, there is no proof to support this claim, as Snopes also noted that the tweet did not include any reputable sources or evidence of said purchase or profit.
“If the son of a sitting U.S. president had made such a move, major news media outlets would have reported it,” they add.
The website further states that the account itself lacked credibility, with its bio linking to a Telegram channel used for cryptocurrency promotion.Featured Image Credit: Win McNamee/Getty Images

Trump reveals nickname for US ambassador to Greece who was engaged to his son
The president welcomed the US ambassador to Greece to mark Greek Independence Da
Donald Trump has detailed his questionable nickname for the US ambassador to Greece during an independence day celebration for the European nation at the White House.
Kimberly Guilfoyle, who was once engaged to Donald Trump Jr., was made ambassador in September last year and joined the president in the White House this week for the celebrations.
At one point, Trump invited Guilfoyle to join him on stage, where he revealed his nickname for his US ambassador to Greece.
The president said: “Kimberlay. Kimberly Guilfoyle. I love calling her ‘Kimber-lay,’ that’s my little pet name, right? But you are the greatest and I heard they love you over there. And I hope you come back here in 12 years or whenever the term ends.”
Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle called it quits on their engagement after a six-year relationship in December 2024, which funnily enough is the month Trump nominated her to be the US ambassador to Greece after he won the 2024 presidential election.
Guilfoyle was previously married to California Governor Gavin Newsom between 2001 and 2006 and is now with businessman Eric Villency.
In a press release marking Greek Independence Day, the White House said the US is ‘tied to both ancient and modern Greece’.
The press release states: “We are tethered by history and tradition, the struggle for self-governance, emancipation, and rebirth. Our Founding Fathers drew inspiration from Greek philosophers and statesmen to form the tenets of our new Republic, now enshrined in our Constitution.
“Our national character has been shaped, in part, by the indelible impact of Greek influence in the arts and architecture, language and literature, and academia and military tradition.
“Today, across the United States, generations of Greek Americans infuse our neighborhoods and communities with a rich legacy of cultural traditions, and a heritage of family, faith, hospitality, and civic responsibility.”

Describing Greece as a ‘valued Nato ally’, the Trump administration thanked Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Greece’s prime minister, for the ongoing ‘economic and diplomatic partnership’ across ‘energy, science, technology, shipping, logistics, and defense’.
The release continued: “The permanent presence of naval forces in Souda Bay and bilateral training events enhance warfighting capabilities and reflect our mutual commitment to joint military cooperation as a cornerstone of security and stability in Europe.
“On this day, we pause to celebrate Hellenic independence, people of Greek heritage worldwide, and the abiding kinship of likeminded nations who cherish democracy, patriotism, prosperity, and peace.”
