Prior to the incident that sent him to the hospital, Norris was training in Kauai, a practice he has been known to pursue despite his older age. A black belt in karate, taekwondo, tang soo do, and Brazilian jiu jitsu, Norris posted a video of himself sparring with a trainer on his birthday on March 10. “I don’t age. I level up,” the caption began. “I’m 86 today! Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young. I’m grateful for another year, good health and the chance to keep doing what I love.”

Norris’ Instagram caption also showed gratitude to the people who have supported him throughout his 58-year career. “Thank you all for being the best fans in the world. Your support through the years has meant more to me than you’ll ever know,” he wrote.

The “Good Guys Wear Black” star has largely been retired from acting in recent years, although he hasn’t stopped completely. In 2020, he had a cameo in “Hawaii Five-0,” and in 2024, he had a lead role in “Agent Recon,” a science-fiction action film. This year, he’ll be playing himself in an Australian action comedy called “Zombie Plane,” which also stars Vanilla Ice and Sophie Monk.
