We’ve heard from Scotland manager Steve Clarke again.
In a second interview, he appeared as downbeat as the first.
When asked if he thought Scotland would make it through, he told the BBC:
“For me, for sure, we’re going home.”
He added:
“Only Scotland can get a winnable first game, then number five and number six in the world.”

Miami is all but a home ground for Sir David Beckham, the co-owner and founder of the US club Inter Miami.
So naturally he was in the VIP stands for the Scotland game against Brazil, which took place at the Hard Rock Stadium, or Miami Stadium, as the American football stadium is called during the World Cup.
Sir David did not come alone: by his side was former teammate Phil Neville (pictured on the left in the image below), who previously coached Inter Miami and, most recently, the Portland Timbers.
But who is the woman draped in a Brazilian flag?
She’s Jackie Apostel, a German-Brazilian musician and the girlfriend of Sir David’s youngest son (pictured on the right)…
The 30-year-old has been dating 21-year-old Cruz Beckham since 2024, according to reports.
‘Soul-destroying’: Gordon Ramsay reacts to Scotland defeat
Chef Gordon Ramsay has reacted to Scotland’s defeat against Brazil last night.
The Michelin-starred chef called the game “heartbreaking” and the first goal after seven minutes “soul-destroying”.
“And also just that tempo, right?” said Ramsay, who was born in Scotland and trained with the youth team of Glasgow club Rangers until an injury ended his dreams on the pitch.
The chef said it would “mean a lot” for Scotland to go through given the nation’s population “of less than five million”, though the Tartan Army have to wait until the end of the group stage to find out.

Ramsay said he was “concerned about this delay and even more shops running out of alcohol”.
Asked if he will wear a kilt if Scotland make it through, Ramsay said: “F*** no. You can’t put my legs in a kilt.”
He was pleased, however, with the Tartan Army’s reception in Boston, where Scotland played their first two games:
“To see the way they’re being received over here, I mean, every girl has fallen in love with them in Boston.
“I think every CVS has run out of pregnancy tests over the last 24 hours as well. It’s been a busy two weeks. I’m dying to see that sea of ginger. It’ll be like, make America ginger again!”
